Children & Dental Hygiene
Caring for your childrens teeth
Our Dentists aim to prevent dental disease rather than treat it at a later date.
Fluoride applications and fissure sealants (tooth coloured sealants) are applied to biting surfaces of children's teeth to prevent decay.
Our dental receptionist and extended duty dental nurse Leianna, is GDC registered and Childsmile trained. She can hold an oral health session with your children upon request - helping cover topics of diet and toothbrushing, and also apply a fluoride varnish twice per year to your childrens teeth - giving them extra protection and strengthening their enamel against sugar acid attacks.
Dental hygiene treatment includes professionally cleaning the teeth for the patient. This is usually called scaling and polishing. However, perhaps our most important role is showing the patient the best way to keep the teeth free of plaque.
The dentist also plays an important role in treating gum disease.
Our Hygienist, Trish uses state-of-the-art Air polishing system.
She has over 25 years experience as a dental hygienist. She also works with special needs children and adults and has a special interest with treating phobic patients.' I have really constant issues with teeth staining due to a bad habit and have been receiving treatment using the Kavo system for about a year and a half now. The results are fantastic with the transformation quite incredible each time I visit. As a result I have increased my visits to four times per year as it keeps my teeth in the best possible condition. I cannot recommend this completely pain free treatment strongly enough. '
